  • Thank You!!!

The staff at The Dog Club of West Linn would like to thank our generous clients for the thoughtful treats, gifts and cards given to us over the Holidays. Our employee table was chock-full of wonderful goodies. We enjoyed it so much that it shows!!!! (And now we have to make New Year's resolutions to diet!!!!) Again, your kindness is greatly appreciated.

    Welcome New Day Care Attendants!

The Dog Club welcomes three new day care attendants! Arat Montoya, Heather Quillan, and Amanda Parker!

Amanda is a senior at Canby High School. Arat, a family man, is also from Canby. Heather hails from Oregon City and has doggie day care experience having worked at Laurel Kennels in Hillsboro. (She likes The Dog Club because it's all indoors!!)

Our number one priority when hiring new employees is that they must have a love of dogs! We hit the jackpot! We are glad to start off the New Year with our newest additions to our Dog Club staff!

"I Will Keep My Dog Well Groomed in 2007!"

Could this be your New Year's Resolution? Grooming your dog accomplishes much more that just making your pet's coat look nice and shiny. Regular grooming is essential to your dog's health and well being. Regular brushing will keep the coat clean and healthy because it will stimulate the skin and allow the natural oils to circulate to the coat. Grooming also allows you to carefully check for potentially serious problems such as hair loss, inflammations, unusual tenderness or lumps under the skin. If you do notice anything unusual, please consult your vet.

A good time to start a grooming routine is after your dog has been walked and had a chance to relieve himself. Begin brushing at the head, working toward the tail and down the legs. Always brush in the direction of the hair growth. Begin with short grooming sessions, five minutes or so. Constantly talk to your pet in a gentle, reassuring tone while grooming to make him feel comfortable. Eventually you can increase the grooming time and your dog will look forward to your "quality" time together.

Long-haired dogs should be groomed daily, while short-haired breeds may require grooming only twice a week. The Dog Club offers a wide selection of grooming brushes, demat sprays, shampoos and conditioners for your "at home" and/or "in-between" grooming needs.

For those who need extra help with grooming or for breeds that require specific clips, The Dog Club will be happy to schedule a professional grooming appointment for your pet. Experienced groomers, Shalene and Jamie, will lovingly transform your beast into a beauty!
