| Fireworks--Aids and Precautions |
 |
|
The Fourth of July is just a few days away and that
means "Fireworks" are going to make their
appearance--if they haven't already. If you find that
your pet is fearful of the loud noises made by
fireworks, here are a few helpful tips to help make this
an
enjoyable holiday for all family members--furry or
otherwise!
1. Create a 'safe room' in your
home--a place that is insulated as much as possible
from noise and lights. Turn on the radio or TV so
there is 'white noise' in the background. Regularly
spend time together in your 'safe room' just playing
and having some treats.
2. Be upbeat! The
easiest thing to do is to cuddle and sympathize--but
that
behavior will make your dog more worried.
(Information provided by Deborah Wood, The
Oregonian)
The Dog Club offers another solution to calming the
beasts! HomeoPet makes a Homeopathic remedy in
drop form. Simply put the drops in your pet's water or
directly in the mouth in dosages according to the pet's
weight. This product is good for dogs, cats and birds.
We recommend starting the day before the 4th to
ensure that your pet is calm during all the holiday
activity. HomeoPet also makes the stress relief
drops for grooming and veterinarian visits, and travel
anxiety.
Normally $14.99, on sale this month
for $11.99!!
